Product Manager - Frappe HR

Every business needs a tool to manage their people operations and payroll. There wasn't any serious open-source HRMS tool, so Frappe HR was built to service this requirement. Over the years it has grown to become a mature product with thousands of businesses relying on it for their day to day operations.

We are looking to hire a passionate product manager who wants to take Frappe HR to next level.

Role and responsibility:

Product management and marketing is a "support" function at Frappe. They work with developers to improve the product. While there's no strict roles and responsibility defined, it can be a mix of following:

  • Roadmap planning using several available sources:
    • Triaging feature requests.
    • Working with end users / customers.
    • Gap analysis wrt competition.
    • User feedback.
  • Triage issues reported via GitHub.
  • Working with users, designers and developers to create detailed specifications for large developments.
  • Quality assurance of major releases. Developers and PMs co-own the quality of releases.
  • Improving documentation.
  • Outsourcing management. Frappe has a large open source community which can be leveraged for building and maintaining developments that are needed but not part of core offerings. E.g. integrations and localizations.
  • Improving product onboarding by using product analytics.
  • Marketing: Content marketing, conducting webinars for users.

After few months at Frappe, you'll write a statement of purpose and define your role.

Experience

Relevant experience is not a hard requirement for this role, but having 1-4 years of experience in any of following is a big plus.

  • Product management/engineering/marketing on a similar B2B product.
  • Functional consulting for similar HRMS offering.

Other information

  • Employment: Full-time
  • Salary range: 14-18 LPA (Negotiable)
  • Location: Remote (India). We prefer candidates based in Mumbai who can visit the office once a week.
